The theme of the exhibition loosely follows the overarching topic of the 2025 Prague Pride Festival, namely Where Is Our Home. The project explores how both younger and older generations of local and international artists engage with concepts such as home, homeland, nationhood, tradition, or the state – and how queer people relate to cities, public space, landscapes, and histories of different places. Home, which should be a safe refuge for every child and adolescent, often becomes the first site of rejection and exile for queer individuals. This exclusion can then repeat itself on broader levels such as school and work environments, society at large, or the nation-state. These structures constantly send messages about who and what is deemed acceptable. That’s why the artists selected for this project are asking the question – where do I/we belong? Where is our home?
